Governors
The Governing Body works in close co-operation with the Headteacher and plays an important part in the management of the School.
The full Governing Body usually meets once a term, whilst sub-committees of Governors meet more regularly to discuss areas such as finance, curriculum, personnel and premises.
Governors are elected for a four-year term of office. The Governing Body provides parents with an opportunity to be involved in all aspects of school affairs. It is important that all parents take the opportunity to elect suitable Governors to represent their interests.
Meet our new Chair of Governors

"I would like to introduce myself as the Chair of Governors at Raynsford Lower School. My name is Menna Easton and I have been involved on the governing body since 2008 as a parent governor. My son currently attends the school and my daughter is due to start in 2012.
As you are aware Raynsford is an outstanding school and is well respected in the community and local area. I am looking foward to working with all the staff, governors, parents and key local groups to continue to deliver a high standard of education to our children.
I am keen to develop more openness between parents and the governing body and with in mind intend to have regular input into the school newsletter. I hope this will give parents a greater understanding of the work of the governors within Raynsford and awareness of challenges that face the school as well as celebrate the successes achieved.
Our school governors are:
Mrs Menna Easton (Chair)
Mr Richard Wenham (Deputy Chair)
Mrs Heather Hill (Headteacher)
Mr Tony Rogers (Foundation PCC)
Mrs Sue Watson (Associate Governor)
Mr Doug White (Parent Governor)
Mrs Karen Davies (Associate Governor)
